I was a fat boy, but I loved to make Michael Jackson&#8217;s dance covers. I loved all his videos, mainly smooth criminal, but I didn&#8217;t know I would follow that for life!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Dance Mogul:<\/strong> Were your parents supportive of your decision to dance?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Eduardo Amorim:<\/strong> Well, my parents never discouraged me. My dad was always saying: &#8220;U cant dance forever, so live your dreams but think about the future&#8221;. But you battle so hard for your dreams, so you have to live it, no matter what! They are proud of me, and I\u2019m happy for that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Dance Mogul:<\/strong> What was it like growing up in your country?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Eduardo Amorim:<\/strong> Growing up in Brazil is very good. I live in Brasilia, capital of Brazil, and that&#8217;s an awesome place to dance and live. Sometimes I have to travel for other jobs, but Brazil is a musical country, and\u00a0good dancers always have\u00a0space to work. Otherwise, we have a lack of pop artists\u00a0here, and video clips and touring jobs are better in US.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Dance Mogul:<\/strong> When did you realize you wanted to dance professionally?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Eduardo Amorim:<\/strong> Well, that doesn&#8217;t happened in one day like EUREKA. I always wanted more, and I felt\u00a0 complete when I was dancing. In society you have to be what people expect you to be, but dancing you are truly yourself! And this feeling moved me on! I always wanted to teach, to be on stage, and spread my passion to the students and the audience, but I think it was a growing process. Since I became a teacher I had this\u00a0 feeling for sure. I&#8217;m happy and that it moved me forward.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wsX2dMVMLeM\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dance Mogul:<\/strong> Who were some of your inspirations?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Eduardo Amorim:<\/strong> Well, my first inspiration was Michael Jackson, for sure. I had lots of inspirations along the years, but I think Janet Jackson, Usher, Britney Spears, Chris Brown and N Sync were the most important. Some choreographers are great inspirations, like Brian Friedman, Sheryl Murakami and Shaun Evaristo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Dance Mogul:<\/strong> What was it like working with some of the industries top artist?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/dancemogul.com\/news\/?attachment_id=3348\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3348\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3348\" alt=\"ed2final\" src=\"\/\/dancemogul.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/ed2final.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"900\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dancemogul.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/ed2final.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.dancemogul.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/ed2final-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Eduardo Amorim:<\/strong> Well, dancing with artists is always a challenge, because you carry on that name and a history with you on the stage. Dancing with Shakira was amazing, she is the nicest person in the world!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Dance Mogul:<\/strong> Tell us a little bit about Eixo Dance company?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Eduardo Amorim:<\/strong> Eixo Dance Company has existed for 9 years, we started with no professional goal, but it grew along the years, becoming a reference. We won a lot of championships, and now we are invited to perform in festivals and Spectacles.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LdFkSeCeddw\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dance Mogul:<\/strong> How did you become choreographer for the American Embassy?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eduardo Amorim:<\/strong> They invited me, said that my style was very similar to the dance professionals in US, and wanted that in Brazil, so working with them is a great experience and responsibility. It&#8217;s very cool!!<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wCf4jkxYKIU\" height=\"315\" width=\"560\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Dance Mogul:<\/strong> What would be your advice to the kids of South America that want to be professional dancers?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Eduardo Amorim:<\/strong> Well, my advice is work hard! Take a lot of classes, specialize in what you want and what you love most, never give up or look back, always look forward. Be grateful to the dancers that taught you, you will always have someone who believes in you and push your talent to the limit, even if its hard sometimes. And the most important part dont forgive the magic of dance, that feeling that you had when you danced for the first time.
