Ayva Severy | The GARCIAS

 

Ayva Severy is an American actress who is best recognized for her role as Andrea Huh Garcia in,  “The Garcias” now streaming on HBO Max. She stars opposite Ada Maris & Carlos Lacámara, as their youngest grandchild.  Ayva’s character is smart, an avid science enthusiast. She is wiser than her years and is determined in action and words to protect her loved ones. Ayva began her acting career at the age of 5 when she booked her first commercial. Since then, she has done several major commercial campaigns for TMobile, State Farm, and Microsoft.  Her most recent national commercial for Walmart is currently being shown on English and Spanish networks.  In addition, she has also done print work for Disney,  Google, and CVS.
Ayva made her theatrical debut at the age of 7 years booking a short film and has starred in several short films since then. Later that year, she guest-starred on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE for their Halloween episode.  Ayva was re-invited to co-star alongside Jimmy Kimmel & Guillermo for an integration spot. Most recently, she played young Anna, co-lead with Zach King, in “The Time-Traveling Sheriff, a fun, family-friendly short film produced by Zach King Studios. Zach and Ana discover a magical hat with the power to teleport them back to the past and face off with a Wild West outlaw. When not acting, Ayva loves all styles of dances, but specifically ballet. Ayva started ballet when she was 4 years old. This year, she just started en pointe and has increased her training to 4 hours a week.  In addition, she is exploring a new style of dance: Spanish Fusion.  At 8 years old, Ayva wanted to train in other styles of dance: hip-hop, modern, contemporary, and jazz.   Currently, Ayva is part of the Lume Dance Training Program and is a member of their audition-based Spark program since Sept 2020.   She trains for 3 hours a week and enjoys this specific program because she gets to train under many different choreographers like Monika Felice-Smith, Azuki Umeda, and CJ Erasme to name a few of her dance role models. Ayva is truly honored to be part of such an amazing and supportive dance family. In her free time, Ayva loves drawing and playing the piano and guitar. She loves outdoor activities like basketball, skateboarding, & camping with family and friends.

Dance Mogul Magazine recently caught up with Ayva to find out about her current success on the HBO Max hit series “The GARCIAS” and hows she balances her talents with school and being a young kid in today’s world.
