What we collect, why, who else receives it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Effective: July 15, 2026 | Last updated: July 15, 2026

The Short Version

We run a dance magazine, not a data business. We do not sell your personal information. We use Google Analytics to understand which articles people read, we embed video and social posts that set their own cookies, and our store links go to MagCloud, which handles purchases. Everything below explains those three things in detail.

Who We Are

This site, dancemogul.com, is operated by Dance Mogul Magazine LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company located at 2430 Butler St, Easton, PA 18042. For any privacy question, contact info@dancemogul.com.

What We Collect

Information you give us

If you email us — a press pitch, an interview request, a correction, a question — we receive whatever you put in that email, including your name, email address, and anything else you choose to send. We keep that correspondence so we can follow up on it.

If you leave a comment on an article, WordPress records the name, email address, and website you enter, along with your IP address and browser user agent. Comments and their metadata may be retained indefinitely so follow-up comments can be recognized and approved automatically.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our server logs record your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, and the pages you visit, with timestamps. This is standard web server activity and is used for security and troubleshooting.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which articles are read, how visitors arrive, and roughly where in the world they are. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes this data on our behalf. It tells us that an article was read 400 times; it does not tell us who you are. You can opt out across all sites using Google’s browser add-on.

Embedded content from other sites

Our articles embed videos and posts from YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and similar services. Those embeds behave exactly as if you had visited the other site directly: the third party can set cookies, collect data, and track your interaction with the embedded content, including if you are logged in to that service. We do not control that, and their privacy policies govern it, not ours.

Purchases and the MagCloud Relationship

We do not process payments on this site. Our magazines, books, and workbooks are printed and sold through MagCloud. When you click a store link, you leave dancemogul.com and MagCloud collects your payment and shipping information under their own privacy policy. We never see your card details.

Affiliate Disclosure

Our MagCloud links carry a referral code. If you buy through one of them, Dance Mogul Magazine may earn a referral fee at no additional cost to you. This does not influence what we publish or which artists we cover — editorial coverage is not for sale. See our Press & Media page for our full editorial terms.

How We Use What We Collect

To publish and improve the magazine, respond to your messages, moderate comments, understand which coverage is useful, keep the site secure, and meet our legal obligations. That is the complete list.

What We Do Not Do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with data brokers. We do not run behavioral advertising networks on this site. We do not build advertising profiles about you.

Who Else Receives Data

Our service providers necessarily process some data in order to function: our web host, Google Analytics, Cloudflare (which serves some of our images), and the embedded platforms described above. We may also disclose information if legally required to, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have these rights under the GDPR; California residents have comparable rights under the CCPA as amended, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

To make a request, email info@dancemogul.com. We may need to verify your identity first. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.

Children

We cover youth dance, and young dancers read this site. But dancemogul.com is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email info@dancemogul.com and we will delete it.

Data Retention

Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely. Email correspondence is retained as long as it is useful for the editorial relationship. Analytics data is retained according to the retention period configured in Google Analytics.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no website can guarantee absolute security, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted here.
